Installing Site Manager with .Net 2.0?

| Hi,
I'm trying to install Site Manager on an end user's PC, but it is failing
the pre-requisite check for
"Microsoft Visual J# Distributable Package Version 2.0"
I have installed "Microsoft Visual J# 2.0 Distributable Package", (and 1.1)
but it is still failing the check.
Any suggestions?

What service pack are you on?
I had problems installing Site Manager when installing MCMS 2002. The way
it worked for me was:
1. Install MCMS 2002 with none of the options other than the CMS engine
selected. The only requirement for this is SQL client tools and both SQL 2000
and SQL 2005 would work fine for this.
2. The next thing is to install MCMS 2002 SP1. This would just install on
its own (not asking you to select components)
3. The next thing is to install .NET 2.0 redistributable and VJ# 2.0
redistributable.
4. After this, go to Control Panel > Add / Remove programs and then click
Change/Modify for MCMS 2002 SP1. In Modify, now select Site Manager as one of
the options. This will install fine.
5. Now install MCMS 2002 SP2 (optional).
Also look at the "Rational Guide for installing MCMS 2002 SP2" on
www.mcmsfaq.com. That is a good guide. The only problem is it assumes that
you're putting everything on the same box - everything including the dev
environment. The above steps assume you are trying to install this on a
server, where you obviously do not want to install VS 2005. If you want to,
install VS 2005 instead of Step 3.
If you face problems with Step 2, you could also perform Step 3 first and
then do Step 2.

| Hi Pandurang,
I am trying to install just the site manager app (not the main MCMS
components) on a channel manager's machine.
So my starting point is no MCMS stuff at all, then sticking site manager
SP1a rolled up version, then applying MCMS sp2. I presume I need SP1a roll
up version before applying SP2.
Any ideas?
