Since installing SQL Server 2005, I can't export .sdo packages from the
Site Manager. I have read about a hotfix, but it doesn't address my
situation exactly.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=913400 says that it is for
SQL Authentication, but when I run the DCA, it shows that I have a
Trusted Connection.
I run the DCA, click the Select Database button. It has the Trusted
Connection box checked. I click OK and I get the follwing error..
You do not have database owner (dbo) rights
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]To connect to this
server you must use SQL Server Management Studio or SQL Server
Management Objects (SMO).
-2147165949
Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState: 42000)

I have gone into the database msmcs_repository and verified that the
credentials that I am logged onto the development machine with (myself)
have dbo rights.

Should I still try hotfix 931400?

Hi John,

there is another hotfix which is required:

Stefan,

I have upgraded to MCMS 2002 SP2 and I have installed hotfixes 913400
and 913401. I wasn't sure if I had installed 913401 correctly, but when
I connected to my existing SQL Server 2000 database, it prompted me for
an upgrade and ran successfully, so I assume that I did it correctly.

Here is my new problem..
I am now trying to connect to database on SQL 2005. This SQL Server was
originally a SQL Server 2000 with a database built with the SP1a
version of CMS2002. It was migrated to SQL2005.

When I try to connect to the database using the DCA, I get an error,
"Unable to connect to database
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server] To connect to this
server you must use SQL Server Management Studio or SQL Server
Management Objects (SMO).
55555
Microsoft SQL-DMO (ODBC SQLState:42000)"

I am using a sql server login that I created with db_owner,
db_ddladmin, db_datawriter and db_datareader.

Any ideas what I need to do to get connected?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

sounds as if the SQL Server 2005 client tools are not installed on this box.

Cheers,
Stefan
