VS2005 & template explorer missing

| Hi there
I'm having problems getting a MCMS Web Application to work correctly in
VS2005.
I've been thorugh the setup on
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?id=906145
This helps as far as a single project. But I'm having problems when I
want to add a MCMS Web Application to a solution that contains other
projects. Then the MCMS Template Explorer doesn't show (it shows up if
it is only a single project). It is neither in the View -> Other
Windows. Is there a solution to this? Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance
/Martin

| Hi Martin,
please open a support case for this.
Might be a new bug.
Cheers,
Stefan

| OK, now this is getting weird. I'm able to add extra projects to a
solution now, without the disappearance of the Template Explorer (TE).
But then if I close down the devenv, it doesn't show up the next time I
open the devenv. Or that is: sometimes it does. I can't figure out what
I'm doing wrong here. I'm just opening and closing the solutions, and
sometimes the TE is there sometimes not.
Another strange thing I found out: if I pin the TE to the right-hand
menus (disabling auto hide) it says "No CMS-Enabled projects are open"
if I select the TE after reopening a solution containing a MCMS
project. (And I've applied the workaround with the regional setting to
US (EN) ).
Did this enlighten anything, or do I still have a support case?
Cheers

| I've found a solution to this problem.
I just want to share it, if anyone else gets this problem.
If you add a MCMS Web Application to an existing solution with
projects, the MCMS Web App project is placed "in the bottom" of the
solution-file (that is, if it is opened in notepad). This somehow
causes problems for VS2005. If you edit the solution-file in notepad,
and move the MCMS Web App proj "to the top", it will work. This won't
be a permanent solution I think. Maybe it is something that has to be
corrected in VS2005. Dunno.
And to Stefan: Thanks for the support. I didn't file a support case as
of now.
Cheers and have a nice day
/Martin
