Random Problem Authoring console disappears

| Hi
I have read the recent "Console Disappears" Thread but I believe my problem
is a little differents as it only happens randomly.
When an author edits a page the authoring console disappears so the author
is unable to save the page they are working on, but this is a ramdom problem.
It does not happen to all authors and does not happen every time the affected
authors use the console.
They are using a standard operating environment, windows 2000, IE 5.5
Any suggestions as I am tearing my hair out.

| Hi Jason,
this can happen if you are using windows authentication and anonymous access
is enabled on your website.
Please double check.
