Can anyone tell me where in the MOSS administration pages I go about
performing a content migration from MCMS to MOSS. The "Planning MCMS
2002 Application Migration to SharePoint Server 2007" whitepaper states
that I should be able to find an option in the Operations tab under
Global Configuration called "Content Management Server Migration".

I have no such option available to me, can anyone enlighten me as to
where or how I can enable this option. I thought it might be a feature
I have to enable - but it wasn't that either.

For reference, I am running Beta 2 of MOSS and the CMS instance is
running in a seperate Virtual PC Image to that of my MOSS installation.

Cheers

Hi Brett,

you will find it here:

- open SharePoint 3.0 Central Administration
- Click on "Operations" on the left hand side
- Click on "Content Management Server Migration" in the "Upgrade and
Migration" section.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

That's the problem - when I navigate to the Operations page I see no
"Content Management Server Migration" option in the "Upgrade and
Migration Section"

The only options I have available under the "Upgrade and Migration"
section are:

- Farm upgrade status
- Enable Premium Features
- Enable features on existing site
- Convert Licence Type

Cheers

Brett

Hi Brett,

is this really MOSS 2007 Beta2?
Or did you only install WSS 3.0?

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

This is definitely a MOSS 2007 Beta 2 installation - I have access to
My Sites, Business Data Catalog, Audiences, BI Web Parts, User Profiles
etc. which is only provided with MOSS.

Cheers

Brett

Hi Brett,

no idea. On all my systems I have this option.
Sounds as if something went wrong with your setup.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Just to let you know I rebuilt my MOSS 2007 virtual image and now I get
the migration links in the Admin screen. I don't know what happened
with the previous install as no error messages where displayed - must
have been a Beta feature.

I have been following your travels with performing MCMS migrations on
your Blog and some of the trials and tribulations you have been
experiencing. Would you recommend even trialing the MCMS migration
functionality with the Beta2 or skip it for now and wait for the
Technical Refresh?

Cheers

Hi Brett,

I would suggest to try it to see which problems you will experience - if
any.

Cheers,
Stefan
