Author required field validator does not work when used in MCMS templates in netscape

I have created a simple application and have validation controls on it.
The file is aspx.cs. The validation controls work fine on every
browser.

After that I wrote same code in mcms template file.
The validation controls work fine IE but do not work in netscape and
firefox.

Please give your comments.
What should I do.

Regards,
Saurabh

Hi Nemesis,

is this a validator to validate normal ASP.NET fields or MCMS placeholder
controls?
If it is for normal ASP.NET fields, please post the question to an ASP.NET
related newsgroup.

Thanks,
Stefan

hi Stefan,
These validators are for ASP .NET fields only.

These are working fine in a normal aspx page(not MCMS) in all
browswers.

But when i am using these in MCMS template. its workiing fine in
internet explorer but not in Mozila and Firefox.

so this problem is in relation with MCMS templates.

plz help,
Regards,
Saurabh

Hi Saurabh,

thanks for the update!
which MCMS service pack level are you using?
If it is SP2 ensure that this fix is installed:

Thanks Stefan. We are trying to get the hotfix and will revert after
implementing the same. We are already using base tag rendering and have
also tried the workaround given in the blog mentioned below. Please
suggest if we need to do anything extra. We are trying this on a very
simple template which has just one text box and one submit button with
a required field validator on the text box.

Regards
Saurabh

Hi Saurabh,

I would suggest to open a support case for this with Microsoft to get this
analyzed in more detail.

Cheers,
Stefan
