Hiya.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to replicate an existing MCMS configuarion onto a development
environment and was wondering what would be the best method to do a full
deployment package so as to replicate the existing MCMS configuration/files.

Is it possible to create such a package that would include the configuration
settings of the existing MCMS or would I have to recreate all the
configuartion settings myself ?

Many thanks

Hi,

some settings are included in the database and some are in registry.
A deployment package will not copy any configuration info - you would need a
database backup to get this or connect your development environment against
the same database.

Cheers,
Stefan

Thanks Stefan.

So if I restore the database then I should be up and running or would I need
to be aware of anything in particular ? - i.e IIS settings etc.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

as I indicated: only part of the configuration is stored in the database.
There are still some configuration pieces which are particular to your
system.
And if you configured local overrides for the values in the database (e.g.
for the cache sizes) you would need to configure these as well.

Best would be to verify the settings in your SCA on your destination box.

Cheers,
Stefan
