Author Link Management

I am using the Telerik r.a.d Editor and creating a hyperlink to an internal
posting. When I expire or remove the linked to posting, the hyperlink
switches to plain text (i.e. no longer a link). Is this a Telerik feature or
an MCMS feature. My client would like to be notified when a link is no
longer a link (because the page content has changed) - they would prefer
broken links instead of no link - is this a possibility.

William

Hi William,

this is a feature in MCMS to prevent broken links.
There is no notification as the generation of the link happens on the fly
when the item is requested.
This means every time a posting is requested MCMS checks all included links
and verifies if the items are available or not. If yes it will render a
link. If not it will hide the link.
The same will happen if the user does not have rights to the destination
posting btw.

Cheers,
Stefan
