i've successfully installed cms sp2 that uses vs 2005, sql server 2005
and asp.net 2.0. I've also successfully converted an old project
solution using the web application projects type, but i've run into a
problem where my MCMS template explorer does not show any of my old
templates, and displaying this message: "No CMS-Enabled Projects are
open."

Guessing that the conversion did not work, I went ahead and created a
new MCMS web application and copied all the old project files into this
new web app instance. However, the template explorer still displays the
same "No CMS-enabled Projects are open."

I am missing a step here?

Hi,

you can't convert MCMS projects using VS.NET.
My experience is that you need to create a new project of type Web Site with
location http and then copy over the converted templates into the new
project.

Cheers,
Stefan

Stefan,
I took your suggestion and created a new MCMS project web site and
copied all the files, but now i'm getting a bunch of errors,
specifically errors in our defaultconsole.asxc usercontrol thats having
trouble referencing standard MCMS tags. I checked the web references
and they are hooked correctly, so i'm really confused now.

heres an example of an error we've seen: "Element 'Console' is not a
known element. This can occur if there is a compilation error in the
Web site."

which is referencing this tag
<CmsConsole:Console runat="server" id="Console1"
EnableLeaveAuthoringWarning="false">

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Kenny

Hi Kenny,

what if you create a new template in this new project.
Does it work here?

Cheers,
Stefan
