Can you export to a read only site?
|
|
|
| We are trying to use the com based deployment API to deploy packages to our
production server which is read only and we are getting errors. Do we need to
have read write to do exports?

| Hi Mike,
you can use server-side SDAPI to access a read-only website but not the
client-side SDAPI.
client-side SDAPI requires a read-write entry point.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Hi Stefan,
Thanks again for the info!
When we try to export to our production site we get a 404 error. What could
be the cause of this error?
Thanks,
Mike

| Sorry, I forgot to mention that our production site is read only. By the way,
we do not have Site Manager installed on the read only production server. Do
we have to have site manager installed for the export to work?
Thanks,
Mike

| Hi Mike,
you cannot use Site Manager or client-side SDAPI against a read-only site.
Only server side SDAPI can be used.
Cheers,
Stefan
