How To: Clear Out Old Postings
|
|
|
| Is there a tool that someone has written that would allow me to manage "old
postings?" I forsee in my new site lots of page revisions. As this will
taxy the database server with more space, I see a need to delete prior
postings based on a date/time.
While the "Switch To Wdit" Link certainly can be used to delete postings,
this design is for one posting at a time. I'm looking for a more elaborate
solution, a mgmt tool that will allow me to delete postings in groups.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks
Tom

| Hi Tom,
you can purge old revisions using the Purge Revision History function in
Site Manager.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Stefan:
Since I can't give my 'end users' Site Manager, is there a client tool that
you can direct me to?
Thanks
Tom

| Hi Tom,
no there is no such tool.
This can only be done in Site Manager.
Usually you would not do this to often. As you cannot purge it for
individual postings running it as an administrator every month or every two
month should be fine.
Cheers,
Stefan
