Posting goes offline when waiting for Moderator approval

| We need a 2 step approval process, but do not want the posting to go off line
when an edit is in process.
According to the FAQ sheet, the only way round this problem is to use a
staging environment.
Having to go to a staging environment is a pretty complex work around.
Has anybody got a better solution to this MCMS limitation?

| Hi Mike,
Moderators are no additional level of approval.
Moderators and Editor approve different things.
See here for differences:
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...6a/MCMS+2002+-+(complete)+FAQ.htm#8C67DE2A-3D7D-424D-82B8-7E68FB2144B6
MCMS does not provide the features to support multilevel approval out of the
box.
If you need multiple approval levels you need to integrate a 3rd party
approval engine.
E.g. one of the following:
www.teamplate.com
www.skelta.com
Cheers,
Stefan

| Thanks Stefan,
Yes, I was aware of the differing functions of the editor and moderator. I
am really looking for a neat way round the way the page goes off line when
waiting for moderator approval. It's a bit bizaar that a page is lost to
subscribers because of what may be an insignificant change, like the expiry
date being extended.
I guess I will have to set up a staged system.

| Hi Mike,
the reason is pretty simple if you know the architecture behind this:

| Thanks for the link.
Yes, I'm pretty happy about how it works and why, but that doesnt help when
you have users asking pointed questions and waving R----t brochures at you.
