Author problem with links in custom control

We have a custom hyperlink control which inherits from the html
placeholder control. We seem to be have a problem where we have a
number of placeholders on the page using this control, if someone edits
the link in one of the placeholders it seems to randomly break some the
of the other links on that page when they save and publish. What seems
to happen is that some of the other links end up pointing to the
read-write admin site rather than the read only public site (we have
the read-write and read only sites on different urls'). Any ideas

Thanks

Scott

Hi Scott,

sounds like a bug in your custom placeholder control.

Cheers,
Stefan

Thanks for your reply, just to clarify a bit more, we seem to end up
with links in the live site that are pointing to the unpublished links
like
http://www.mysite.com/NR/exeres/944...tionUnpublished

Any ideas what to look for in the custom control (I did not write it
myself)

We are using mcms 2002 with the latest service pack installed.

Hi Scott,

yes. you need to ensure that the links are enclosed in double quotes.
Without double quotes around the URL they are treated as static text and not
as links.

Stefan

Thanks for your reply, just to clarify a bit more, it seems to be
happening on a production environment but not on a development
environment so I am not sure it is simply a straightforward coding
error.
