Hi Stefan/group

We are developing an MCMS publishing solution for our environments.

We are using the standard MCMS PAPI code by Stefan to publish content.
This works fine however we are noticing that new resources are not
always copied across environments even though the link to them is
inbedded in our placeholders.

Has anyone had these issues before and if so what are the rules for
MCMS PAPI for resources?

Thaks for any help you can offer

Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul,

this is by design.
See in the MCMS documentation:

/Deploying MCMS 2002
/Type of Site Deployment
/Incremental Site Deployment

....
You perform an incremental site deployment to export only MCMS-managed
objects that have changed since the last deployment. MCMS managed objects
include channels and approved pages, as well as the resources that they
depend on. The incremental deployment updates all changes related to the
tasks associated with managed objects, in creation, deletion, and updates.
....

As you can see resource gallery items and templates will not be treated as
managed objects if they are not bound to a page.
