Hello I am web manager of a MSCMS 2002 site . My tech team are telling me i
cant rename a page and have the old link re directing to the newly name page
(same posting / content etc ). So meaning the old page name old will create
404 .

for example, i have education site and mngt has changed the subject name :
Homepage > Primary/Intermediate> About school> What do they learn? > Health
and physical education
Needs to be:
Homepage > Primary/Intermediate> About school> What do they learn? > Health
and Physical Well-being

So i need the URL of Homepage > Primary/Intermediate> About school> What do
they learn? > Health and physical education" to re direct to "Homepage >
Primary/Intermediate> About school> What do they learn? > Health and Physical
Well-being" . (has this page is linked from other sites / bookmarke etc ..)
Does this happen autmatically ?

Help please !

Many thanks,
Claire Sherrington

Claire,

You can keep the original posting as is "Health and physical education" and
create a connected page from it called "Health and Physical Well-being".
This way both Urls will go to the same content and if an author makes changes
to either location, then both locations will be updated.

Regards,

William Cornwill

Hi Moava,

all links from MCMS postings to other postings will still work as MCMS takes
care about this when renaming a posting.
Only links from other external sites might have to be adjusted.

Cheers,
Stefan
