False 302 Errors creating odd URLs
|
|
|
| Hi,
We've been using CMS for quite some time and have noticed a couple of
channels do a weird redirect instead of opening the default page. For
example, instead of opening the default page for a channel called
"Athletics", the web server is (I'm spying with Fiddler here, the user
doesn't really notice anything but the URL) redirecting claiming a 302 error
(resource moved) which, you know, I didn't move. The attempted redirect is
to something closer to the physical path plus a GUID. The page, however,
loads correctly.
This only happens in a couple of places. Most of the channels' default
pages load just fine. The end result, and the only complaint, is the URL has
changed from http://server/channel to
http://server/path/path/path/page?N...1E-8E486D179DE9}&NRORIGINALURL=/athletics&NRCACHEHINT=NoModifyGuest&abs=1
What could possibly cause this behavior? Feel free to take a look at
www.orangecoastcollege.edu -- the bad channel is linked bottom right.
Thanks for any suggestions.

| Hi Scott,
sounds to me as if there is a channel rendering script assigned that does
the redirection.
Can you please double check?
Cheers,
Stefan

| Hi Stefan,
No, no script. This is only happening in two places (which you would think
would make it easier to track, but nooooo). One of the places has the
channel name the same name as the physical folder with the form (I only note
it because it's the only one like this). We were looking at that as a
possible factor except, of course, the other place this is happening is not
structured similarly.
Any other thoughts? It's obviously not high-priority for us but it is
annoying.
Thanks for your input.
