Hi there,

for a few days we start to experience major problems with our productive web
site running mcms 2002 sp2 on w2k3.

The web site is running smoothly for several hours when suddenly the
following errors occur:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Server Error in '/cms' Application.
Server error. Contact the site administrator.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the
current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about
the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException: Server
error. Contact the site administrator.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web
request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can
be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Stack Trace:

[COMException (0x80041b58): Server error. Contact the site administrator.]

Microsoft.ContentManagement.Interop.Publishing.IRcwBaseHierarchyItem.GetByRelativePath(String relativePath) +0

Microsoft.ContentManagement.Publishing.ChannelItem.GetByRelativePath(String
relativePath) +38

[CmsServerException: Server error. Contact the site administrator.]

Microsoft.ContentManagement.Publishing.ChannelItem.GetByRelativePath(String
relativePath) +92
...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The known issues and solutions filed under
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...6a/MCMS+2002+-+(complete)+FAQ.htm#0816895C-5D1D-4DE8-91E7-ADB0508310D0
don't seem to be the cause.

The Stack Trace looks different and it is not a permanent problem. It only
occurs sometimes. But when it's there, nothing helps but an iisreset.

The only lead / idea we got so far is that it seems to occur under heavy
duty and/or while an sdo import is running.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards, Rainer

Hi Rainer,

might be a database inconsistancy.
You should open a support case to get this analyzed in more details.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Thank you for your quick response - event though it didn't contain a direct
solution ;-)

Cheers, Rainer

Hi Rainer,

some problems will require deeper analysis before they can be resolved.
;-)

Cheers,
Stefan
