Hi

I've need to make a static copy of a intranet site - more specific some
folders under the root.

I've don't have much experience with the site staging - are this the way to
do this ?

Anyway Installed site staging - but can't seem to setup the function as I
keep getting the error:

"Destination user Invalid. Destination User entered does not have "log on as
a batch job" access Please choose another user."

can some assist and tell me how to make a copy ?

If you want a "static copy" then I probably would not "stage" the site
onto another server!...Instead...

MCMS 2002 doesn't allow you to create a Static version of the
published site out the box.

This is where Stefan comes to the rescue with his SiteStagerDotNet
console app. The tool allows you to create an EXACT image of the
website, including all content and resources!

It creates all pages as static HTML files with all the JavaScript and
XSL/XSLT for the page.

You can then setup a Virtual web directory and then navigate an
offline version of the website, problem solved!

All you do now is setup a schedule task to the console app using a
batch file (and relevant parameters) and set a Daily, Weekly or
Monthly archive schedule. This can then be stored on a location off
the server or backed off to a SAN's (Storage Area Network) location.

You can download the code and app from: GotDotNet

Hi

thanks for the response - I've DL the sitestagerDotnet, set the correct
parameters and it starts perfectly but approx 5 minutes in it's generating
an error:

"Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process
id=0xf8 Thread id=0x124(292)

anyone ?

Hi Snowman,

you have the source code - so please debug it in VS.NET and isolate what
problem occurs.

Cheers,
Stefan

Yes - the source code are there - but when I try to build I get:

"The type or namespace name 'HttpUtility' could not be found"

line 137: string Path = HttpUtility.UrlDecode(URL);
