Recommendation for a Search Engine for MCMS

Can anyone recommend one or two of the best search engine utilities to
use with MCMS and why? We've been investigating this for some time
now, and are running into too many so-so alternatives. Here are the
requirements we are looking for...

-- It must work with MCMS

-- It must be able to group results into categories we define (ie.
News, Events, etc. all of which are identified in our MCMS tables)

-- It must be able to also crawl another third party database

-- It should be able to add weight to results based on fuzzy match vs.
exact match

We've looked into Google Mini and Mondo. Both seem a little pricey,
but we realize we may have to go that way since we are crawling about
6,000 pages currently (could go higher in the future)
