host header issue?
|
|
|
| I am not sure where or if I can remedy this...
we use host header mapping in the SAC...
when you goto nbta.org it resolves to www.nbta.org as desired...
However, when you goto nbta.org/education, it goes to www.nbta.org rather
than www.nbta.org/education
Is it possible to get this to work and if so, is it a host header issue, a
CMS ISAPI filter, or something else?
Thanks for any suggestions...

| Hi Jimmy,
nbta.org and www.nbta.org are different fqdn.
These should not resolve to the same channel.
Do you have some sort of ISAPI filter to map this to the same channel?
Cheers,
Stefan

| Stefan,
I have a IIS redirector for "nbta.org" that goes to www.nbta.org.
Additionally, I have DNS entries pointing to the same IP.

| Hi Jimmy,
then it sounds as if this redirector does not work correct if the URL
contains a subchannel.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Stefan,
Thanks for talking (writing) this out with me...
Based on your responses, I was able to isolate and correct the issue.
I had 2 problems:
1. In IIS I had a "redirection to a url" defined for nbta.org to redirect
to www.nbta.org, however, the box "The exact URL entered above" was checked.
Unchecking that box was required.
2. For some reason, perhaps due to a transfer of the website from one
server to another, I lost my "wwwroot" path under my nbta.org redirection
URL. I put that back into place and along with one above, all is working as
it should.
Thanks again for taking the time to answer these types of questions. I hope
that by my putting how I corrected the problem will help some one in the
future.
