Author Problem with MCMS 2002 Default Console
Fraser Lamont

2007-02-23, 1:16 pm

Software Installed:
SQL Server 2005
Windows 2003 Server
MCMS 2002 Enterprise 1a
MCMS SP2
IE Web controls
Visual Studio 2005
Visual SourceSafe
IIS6

Scenario: On the web Server, the MCMS works exactly as anticipated.
However, upon setting up MCMS on my local development machine (same spec as
above, but configured for a Multiple

Computer Production Environment) the default console will not work on the
local=> http://localhost/channels
i.e. I can create a new page, select the template, but when it gets to the
default console "Preview / Save New Page

/ Exit" none of these three features work.
If I click once on any of these 3 items, the page simply refreshes. Clicking
a second time results in the following

page error in IE:

Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being displayed properly...
....

Line: 102
Char: 1
Error: Object Expected
Code: 0
URL:

http://localhost:801/test/PlaceHolder.aspx?
NRMODE=Unpublished&NRCHANNELGUID=%77bE4D19123-11D1-B44E-006097071246%7

.....etc.

Installation guidelines were followed taken from here:
http://www.mcmsfaq.com/articles/sp2install.asp

Any assistance/suggestions with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Stephan,

Thanks for your reply.
I have checked for the issues that you referred to in your reply, but
cannot find anything untoward.
I am very confused about this.
Any other suggestions would be most welcome.
