| Hi Chandy,
sounds as if you are using the precompile option in VS.NET 2005.
You cannot use this with MCMS for an authoring site.
For a read-only site you can use it.
Please disable this feature for a read-write site.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Hi Stefan,
I could swear I have deployed a precompiled site and it's worked in
edit ok before! Certainly I never deploy codebehind files and I have
running sites that do not have them but are .net 2.0!
I will have to check back now as to how I did it before but yes, I
have precompiled the site.
Is there any information as to why it will not work for edit sites? I
would be interested to know.

| Hi Chandy,
precompilation does not mean that no code behind is included!
You have two different way to precompile: precompile where the ASPX part is
compiled + code behind and precompile where only the code behind is
included.
MCMS edit does not work if you choose to precompile ASPX pages as well.
The option in VS.NET which you have to uncheck is "Allow this precompiled
site to be updateable".
Cheers,
Stefan

| Hi Stefan,
I take it you mean that "Allow this precompiles site to be updateable"
must be *checked*, not unchecked? Otherwise there will be no ascx
files at all.
So glad for VS 2005 SP1 and Web Application Projects

| Oups!
Yes, you are right!
:-)
Btw: Web Application Projects are not supported with MCMS.
Cheers,
Stefan

Aww, a great shame. Oh well, just as well we are all just reduced to
just skinning moss pages now instead of doing nice MCMS sites then
eh?
