does one of these counters, or a different one tell me how many users are
using the CMS websites?

i thinking the best measure of throughput then is current requests, requests
per second.. right?

Hi Jason,

if you are looking for performance counters: yes.
But you can also use a IIS log file analyzer to get visits and other
patterns.

I would suggest downloading LogParser from MSDN. It's a very handy tool for
this. I use it on my MCMS sites.
