Low performance on editing contents within Microsoft CMS

| Hi!
I have a a problem with the edit-mode on pages with some more
placeholders on it (for example a template with 60 HTML Placeholders
and 30 Image placeholders).
On most environments it takes much time to open the page in edit mode
(up to 2 minutes). During this time the Internet Explorer on the
client process runs with 100% cpu.
When the page is loaded, it's very exhausting to edit contents,
because scrolling is very slow and jerking.
It seems that there maybe a bug within the ActiveX controls of
Microsoft CMS, because on other systems it runs perfectly. I can't
figure out where the problem is because even on identical environments
(e.g. both Windows XP SP2, same patchlevel, same IE version) it runs
very slowly at one system and at the other it runs very smoothly.
We use Microsoft CMS 2002 with SP1a on windows server 2003.
Most clients are using Windows XP, SP2 with Internet Explorer 6.0,
current patchlevel.
Even with Internet Explorer 7 the same problem exists.
If anyone has some ideas or tips to solve this problem i would be very
glad if you could post them.
thanks in advance.

| Hi Armin,
this will happen if you don't implement this workaround for the behavior
change in IE:
