installing updates to production server
|
|
|
| We are attempting to install an update that was developed on our dev server
onto our production server. Never have we seen this error, but after
uninstalling the current website and then installing the new site, we recieve
the following error after selecting the virtual directory:
The specified path 'http://servname/virtualpath' is unavailable. The
Internet Information Server might not be running or the path exists and is
redirected to another machine. Please check the status of this virtual
directory in the Internet Services Manager.
This site has been up and running and we have been doing install after
install over the last several weeks without a single issue. Everything seems
to be configured correctly as we hadn't changed anything. This was a simple
update by doing an uninstall and an install routine.
Anyone have this happen or can point me in the right direction? Our
Australian site is down and we only have a few hours to get it back online.
Thanks,
Jimmy

| Hi Jimmy,
what method do you use?
There is no tool in MCMS availble where you can select a path for a
deployment.
Is this a custom solution?
Cheers,
Stefan
