How can I tell who is page "owner"?
|

| Page 396 of the MCMS 2002 Complete Guide states that authors can delete pages
they own and editors can delete pages regardless of who owns them. How the
heck can anyone tell in CMS who owns what pages. I don't see it in page
properties. The SiteManager has something called "locking owner" is that what
the guide refers to? All our pages appear to have "locking owner" set to
"Everybody". Does that mean everyone can delete anything via the web author?
What does it mean to "own" a page in MS CMS.
Any best practice recommendations for preventing less savvy Authors from
deleting pages by accident?
Thanks in advance for any info.

| Hi Ninerfan,
check the locking owner.
If Everybody is the owner, then the page can be deleted by any author.
Cheers,
Stefan

| Yes it seems that the majority of our pages are have "Locking Owner" =
"Everybody".
Is this bad? Seems so since our authors can delete any page they want.
How do I set who the locking owner is? More specifically is there a way to
only allow Editors to delete, period, end of story? That way I don't care who
the locking owner is I just don't want authors deleting anything.
Thanks.

| Hi,
that is the correct owner if the item is not in the workflow. Means when it
is approved.
Such items do not have a locking owner as they are not locked.
Cheers,
Stefan
