Hi
Trying to get vs 2005 to function with the cms 2002 sp2 - installed the
hotfix that bypass the VS 2003 check and managed to installed the vs 2005 -
but when I try to create a new project I only have:

Content Management Server Project -->Visual web developer-->CSHARP -->1033

and

Content Management Server Project ->Visual webdelveloper-->Visual
basic-->1033

but there's nothing in the right pane -

what's wrong ?

No. Did you use New Website or New Project?
New Project will not work.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan

I used new project...- but If I choose new website there's no CMS templates
or similar

It's on Our development machine where I have a Mixed mode cms up and running
fine and now I need to connect to this site and edit the asp templates....

In VS.2003 it had a MSCMS where I could check the templates out and in - but
in VS 2005 I don't know how to accomplish this.......

Hi Wiper,

you cannot work against a remote machine.
Only against the local machine.
Anyway: the template should show up.
You might want to open a support case for this.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan

both cms 2002 and vs 2005 are on the same machine - and I use a remote
desktop to fire up VS 2005 at the server..

Can you tell me the if the "steps" below are correct ?

Installed cms 2002 sp1
Executed the bypass.vbs
Installed the CMS SP2
Added developer tools in the cms installation.
Installed VS 2005
executed devenv /setup from a VS command line

Then I Started VS and tried to Created New website -> used filesystem at
d:\website ...

Also tried to connect to the existing website that runs the cms at the
localhost and it opens up - but no templates check in and out...

cheers
Wiper

Hi Wiper,

you cannot use file system. You have to use http.

Cheers,
Stefan

Hi Stefan

If I use HTTP: and tried to create a new website e.g

Http://MyCmsSiteName i get:

unable to create the Web 'http://MyCmsSiteName/. The webserver does not
appear to have the frontpage server extension installed. (does VS & CMS need
theese?)

Also tried to create the Web 'http://MyCmsSiteName/develop/ - and the same
error appears

I'm not running the CMS site on the default web site - i have crated a new
at port 80, and stopped the default web site.

Hi Wiper,

Cheers,
Stefan
