| I have been reviewing this article http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=555223
and using the specified counters to monitor our servers my particular query
is with the following statement,
Memory, Cache Bytes
Memory, Pool Nonpaged Bytes
Memory, Pool Paged Bytes
Memory, System Code Total Bytes
Memory, System Driver Total Bytes
The sum of these counters is a measure of how much of the 2GB of
the shared part of the 4 GB virtual address space is actually in use. Use
these to determine if your system is reaching one of the architectural limits
discussed above.
If at all possible would like it explained to me in terms I might be able to
comprehend?
The reason for my confusion with this statement is if I sum these figures it
shows a total utilization figure of 265060352 or something similar now I
assume as the figures I am summing up are all in bytes if I divide this
figure by 1024 3 times I’ll get GB utilisation but as you will all see this
gives a 0.26?? Now if these servers were in a test environment or not being
utilised I might accept these figures but these are production servers and
are being heavily utilised with DBMS software.
Any help most appreciated
