I am working on a MSIB 2.5 project and want to base the site on the Adventure
Works Sample Site. I also want to use a combination of Active Directory and
SQL Server as the data store for the CS User Profile. From the documentation
I have seen, when using AD, you are suppose to base the site on the B2B
Supplier Sample Site. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to implement
AD, basing my site on Adventure Works instead of B2B Suppliers?

I will defer to the MSIB experts out there, but I believe the real
distinction has to do with the Authentication and Impersonation model of
the site, not so much user profiling.

What are your plans for authentication? If you'll be using forms-based
auth (or similar) and not Windows auth, and you don't plan to use
impersonation of site visitors' security context (or proxy context based on
Organization), then you should be fine with the standard MSIB site, I think.
