Author Pipeline Error...

I'm using Commerce Server 2002 pipelines with a component provided by a
third party for payment authorisation.

I get the following error message:
"Pipeline Error: Error loading the pipeline configuration data from the
file: <path to pipeline file>.pcf "

We have a number of pipelines that fail from time to time as above. These
are fairly identical and all use this component. No one particular pipeline
seems to fail more often than others but once one has started failing it
will continue to fail every now and then (not all the time) until we do an
iis reset whilst all others will continue to be fine. The pipeline starts
failing when memory usage on the server is high generally a couple of days
after an iis reset.

Obviously i've emailed the component manufacturer but can anyone help me
understand under what conditions the above pipeline error is likely to be
thrown. If this is a memory issue why does everything else seem to run
smoothly? Any pointers appreciated.

Well if you doing IIS reset due to high memory then I would say you have
memory leak. As for as why pipeline files can't be loaded is that there is a
design flaw in the component. Since these components are written by someone
else then you are at their mercy.

Good luck,
