I am in the process of building a web application based on Microsoft CMS 2002 and CS 2002.

I want to use CMS 2002 as a presentation server. CMS 2002 will be responsible to manage/publish the content. Some of the functionality such as Catalog and User management (proflies) will be managed BY CS 2002. I want to access CS2002 objects (Catalog/prof
ile) from CMS 2002.

I understand cms 2002 can be integrated with CS 2002 with MSIB Content Connector.

Can I create a CMS project in VS.NET and use content connector to access the Commerce server objects?

When I install the sample solution site (Adventure Works) provided by Microsoft that comes with MSIB, I observed that it is nothing but a commerce server project and not a Content Management server project (By project I meant -- VS.Net project). Is it pos
sible to access CS objects (catalog/profile) from a CMS project created using VS.NET? If so How?. Is there any documentation in this regard.

Is it mandatory to use the MSIB solution site provided by MS ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I am not sure on whether or not MSIB is required. You may get a more
definitive answer by posting this question to the CMS newsgroup. Have you
tried adding references for the Commerce objects to your CMS project?

Thanks,
