We had a perfectly installed commerce server site for some
time. One dya we had some issues with our database server
(we have one db server and one iis server). In short, the
db server was hacked, we decided to hide it from the
internet (it had remote desktop access before) and set a
10.1 ip address for it. Actually the guys at hostway did
that. After that, the site simply wouldn't work. Firt it
showed the SQL server does not exist or login failed
error, which i solved by changing the ip addresses that
were configured in the commerce server manager. Just to
make things clear, the both servers see each other
perfectly, there is an enterprise manager on the iis
server and i connect through it to the db server, plus the
test connection is always successful. So... no that they
could see each other, everything should have been ok...
but nope, onw i get the Cannot create SSPI context error,
which i have tried to solve without any luck. The account
used to connect to the db server is the same it had before
the problem with the db server, nothing was changed (at
least intentionally). What other commerce server config
should i consider in order to set up and running the site
once more?
any help GREATLY appreciated

Juan,

When I looked up that error message I found a number of connection related
problems. I would recommend that you go into the commerce server manager
and test the connection strings on all of the global and site resource for
that site. If that does not point you into the right direction I would
recommend that you turn on SQL Profiler and capture all of the TSQL, Stored
Procedures, and Error and warning before browsing to the site. This might
give you more information regarding what is happening on the SQL Server.

Thanks

Kevin, I checked all of the connections in Commerce Server
Manager and they were all successful, and it really
connected because on a password change the login would
fail.
I also tried with the SQL Profiler, but nothing unusual
seems to be going on, one thing though, there never
appears an attempted login by the user specified in the
Comerce Server Manager connection strings (i was using sa
as username).

I am really out of ideas... if you or anyone has any
suggestions i'll be open to them.

thanks anyhow Kevin.
