Author Direct Mail Service has Event Message 515

Message in event log:

Cannot access the service configuration information due to
the following error: hr=0x80020009!x! Please fix the
problem and restart the service

I can find a listing on Microsoft's site regarding that
this is a known event. Anyone know why (apparently MS
wants to keep it secret)

TIA

Thank you for using Microsoft Newsgroups.

Check the permissions for the service accounts, especially to the
MSCS_Admin database. As per the installation document
(http://www.microsoft.com/commercese...2002/Installati
on_Guide.htm):

Use Windows Integrated Security
This option uses Windows user accounts to authenticate to the
Administration database on SQL Server. When you use Windows Integrated
Security, you must create accounts and assign appropriate permissions in
SQL Server for the necessary database roles. For detailed instructions
about using Windows Integrated Security, see "Deploying Commerce Server
Using Windows Authentication" in Commerce Server 2002 Help.

And within the "Deploying Commerce Server Using Windows Authentication"
section of the Commerce Server 2002 Documentation, you will need to perform
steps 7 - 9. This is where the MCSC_Admin database permissions required
are specified. Please refer
to these steps to provide necessary database permissions.

Also SQL Server Agent must be running before Direct Mailer Service starts.
