Commerce Server is not installed on <server_name>

| Jorge,
I had the same error occur when I attempted to install CS
on an IIS server with a remote SQL data server (same
network/domain) It went away after i installed CS on the
SQL/IIS machine.
I don't know why. According to the documentation the CS on
IIS and DB on a different machine should work. But never
could get it to go that way.

the "Select IIS Computers, Web Sites and Paths" step I get
the message: "Commerce Server is not installed on
<server_name>. If you want to use this computer, you must
install Commerce Server on it before continuing."

everything is OK but unpup.exe still shows me that message.

| Thank you for using Microsoft Newsgroups.
I have seen this error when the installation of Commerce Server is invalid.
The CS web server cannot connect to the CS MSCS_Admin database. Check:
- CS2Ksetup.log for any errors during the installation.
- Check the connection string in CSM.
- You might want to re-install CS in repair mode.
