We're in the initial stages of a website redevelopment and our agency is
steering us towards Commerce Server and MCMS. Our existing webserver is a
Dual Xeon 2.8GHz, 1GB RAM, 40GB HD. SQLServer box has identical setup. Both
running Win2k3 Server.

Based on our current web traffic (ASP pages with less than 10k
visitors/day), the hardware has us significantly overpowered. However,
looking towards the Commerce/CMS config I wonder if this might also be the
case. Particularly, do we really need dual processors on the webserver?

Microsoft specs are lower than what we have, but I'm looking for real world
scenarios. My primary reason for this question is an attempt to reduce
licensing costs without sacrificing performance.

SQL Server config would remain the same, where I suspect we'll reap the
benefits of a dual processor system.

Appreciate the help,

Christian
