| I have a product inventory of around 10000 items in MS Great Plains,
what would be the best way to export this data into Commerce Server
product database.

This may not be the answer you are expecting or want to hear, but for
GP integration with Commerce Server I prefer to use the Great Plains
eCommerce product in conjuction with Commerce Server. It's designed
from the ground up to enable eEnterprise work with commerce server.
In that sense, for me at least, it is the best way.

By the way, to give more detail on my last answer..Great Plains
eCommerce performs this synchronization using a BDX service that
enables you to automatically export items from your various iv*****
tables as well as all your other tables in the GP distribution series
(sales order, customer records, yadda yadda yadda) into your GP
ecommerce/commerce server web site.
