trouble synchronizing data warehouse
|

| I'm trying to sychronize the data warehouse by choosing a New Package under
Data Transformation Services. The instructions say to choose "23 Web server
log import (Commerce Server) from the Task menu. However, that type of task
is Not listed under my task menu. Other Commerce Server tasks such as 24
Configuration Synchronization (Commerce Server), 22 Profile Data Import
(Commerce Server) and others are also missing. Does anyone know what I can
do to fix this?

| Which version of CS are you using ?
Home many machines do you have in your config ?
While Loading CS did you choose the complete option ?
Do you have SQL Analysis Services Configured (MS OLAP) and visible in the
Commerce Server MMC ?
If you have done all this then you should try a reinstal -repair option for
Commerce Server.

| Hi Shane,
We need to check if the Commerce Server was installed with the analysis
server option... What I'd suggest is you run the Commerce Server Installation
again in the "Repair/Add Remove" mode.
Before you add (assuming they aren't there) the Analysis Server related
components from Commerce Server, I recommend readin up about it in the help
file to ensure that the underlying OLAP Services are set up properly.

| Hi Ravi,
I looked in my "Add Remove programs" and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis
Services is in the list of programs. However, there is nothing listed that
pertains to Analysis Services under the Commerce Server options when I choose
"Change" in the add/remove programs dialog for Commerce Server. The only
things I see are the following:
Administration Tools
Commerce Server Core
Developer Tools
SDK
Developer Portal
Run-time Objects
Commerce Site Packages
.NET Assemblies
Direct Mailer Service
Online Documentation
I'm not sure what I should be seeing if I had analysis services for commerce
server installed. I would think that I would see a red X listed next to it
if it is Not installed but I don't know. I'll read in the docs like you
suggested before I try to uninstall/reinstall.
Thanks,
Shane
