Multiple application sharing the same database
|
|
|
| Hi All,
How can I set up multiple applications using the same database/resources?
The reason for this is that I wanted to have two or three sites setup in one
server each have their own IP or host name or port different from one
another, i.e. www.mysite.com for public, admin.mysite.com for admins, but
they must use the same resources, from authentication resource to profiles.
Is this possible with CommerceServer?
TIA

| Both the profiles and authentication resources are global resources (you
can see this in the Commerce Server MMC).
A particular site only has a reference resource that points to these global
resources.
What you can do is create two sites (each with different reference
resources) that point to the same global resources.
For more information on how to set this up, you can refer to the Commerce
Server documentation under "Adding a Global Resource Pointer to a Site".
Hope that helps,
madhur
