Hi I have transfered a site
www.valmary.comrunning
windows 2000 / commerce server 2000
to a new server
www.tailormadeshirt.com (test url)
windows 2003 / commerce server 2002 sp 2 (evaluation)
The new site is running mega slow (up to 2 minutes to show page
http://www.tailormadeshirt.com/para...&idproduit=chsm
)

Server is a single processor 2ghz celeron 512mb

What could be the issue
SQL server
Commerce Server installation
Server under spec?

Any help would be ratefully recieved

ThanksMatt

My first move would be to turn on SQL Profiler to produce a Trace Log.
Then use this log to let the SQL Server Index Tuning Wizard do its
thing.

Without proper indexes, things can get pretty slow.

I have same issue -- except it's not slow on every page, just key
areas, like basket, checkout... anything it looks like that has to do
with the connectionstring mscop://
The site runs fine on Windows 2000 Web server, but not the Windows 2003
web servers. I haven't found much help on this -- anyone else?

Hi Ben
I found a huge part of my issue was running windows 2003 web server instead
of standard edition. The sql server that was running is msde not the full
version.
Upgrading the server to standard edition and installing the proper sql
server (I couldn't tell till I asked the guys who are running the server)
helped HUGELY.
I also dropped the evaluation version of commerce server as unhelpfully it
said my trial was run out (after 1 day, thanks guys...) BUT my old version of
commerce server works ok.
I still have a performance issue but most pages are quick enough c. 8secs
only one is a real bug bear at 30 secs (on dsl)
So Ben I'd look at your sql version

thanks tried this nothing obvious, the db is well indexed.
Major issue solved by finding out I was using wrong version of windows 2003
/ sql server.
Still annoyed by the performance.
When run locally ie from the server its instantaneous
