Author Set Target Groups in Discount Manager

I have a number of expressions for staff discounts. In BizDesk (before FP1) I
had expressions such as "Names A-M", Names N-Z", and "External People". I
then had an expression that included all of these as its conditions.
Unfortunately the new Discount Manager doesn't allow expressions within
expressions (out of interest anyone know why?), so I am having to use the
expressions individually. The problem I'm having is when I'm editing a
discount. If I choose all of the above expressions in the 'Eligibility
Requirements' section nobody gets offered the discount. However, if I just
choose one of the expressions it works correctly.

Has anybody seem this error before/got any ideas about where to look? I have
run the pipeline trace and the discount is just ignored as CS thinks the
customer does not meet the requirements - no errors are reported.

Thanks in advance,
Andy

Hi Andy,

I apologize for the delay. What you met appears to be a bug in FP1
which we just fixed in a QFE recently. Its corresponding KB article
is still in draft which hasn't been published to public, but you can
call Microsoft CSS to request this fix basing on the KB
number(requesting fix is a free service).

You can find the CSS phone number from the below link:
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...US;PHONENUMBERS

Provide the support professional with the KB number of this hotfx:
895186 .

Let me know if you meet any problem.
Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I have this hotfix, and have rebuilt the Discount
Manager using the update source files. It fixes a problem relating to editing
target expressions, but doesn't have any impact on this issue of assigning
target groups to a discount.

The code updates in the hotfix only applied to the Discount Manager
application, but I would expect an update to the pipeline components as well
as it appears that any target expressions selected are being used with 'AND'
conditions rather than 'OR' conditions? Perhaps I have the wrong/an
incomplete hotfix?

Cheers,
Andy

Hi Andy,

In this case, I think you have to contact our PSS again to request
one or more QFEs which are comprehensive on all these problems. The
current one only fixes the expressions criteria issue of discount.

Thanks.
