BizDesk Client. Commerce 2000
|

| Im trying to install the BizDesk Client for CS2000. Im having issues that
once its downloaded via the Active-X control. I try to connect from the
client machine. It never prompts me for username or password associated with
the accounts. And none of the links work. However i do seem to have the
client ! Is there some undocumented connection string or authentication i
need to pass through to allow the client to work with my commerce serv?

| Sorry for the double post. I did Forget to check this one !
James,
We are Connecting to a Commerce server that is in a DMZ. The BizDesk
Client is running Windows XP.
ActiveX and Scripting are Disabled on the particular machines that will be
running BizDesk.

| Dustin,
One thing you could try is turn you authentication for BizDesk to NT Basic
instead of NTLM. If these are on the same domain try using the same
accounts on both machines when launching the application. Also check you
eventvwr to see if there is anything of interest logged. If so please send
the information in the next reply

| Addressing this Issue,
Im hesitant to go to my public Web Server and change the IIS to Basic
Authentication for the BizDesk web. This will allow all passwords to be in
plaintext correct?
So are we looking at a SSL Solution now?

is the error I recieve.

| The SSL Solution is one option to try and sometimes fixes this issue.
With this error message do you receive anything in the event viewer? You
might also want to check to verify all the users have proper database read
access.

| James,
Ive made progress ! embarrasingly. We already had SSl setup and we
are using it. So i just needed to Connect to https://
Although. NOW the error im getting is
2 msxml Overwrite messages (seems trivial)
and the ShowStopper error.
" INF Install Failure. Could not retrieve system message. You may run out
of system resource. "
Any ideas on this lst stumble? I am assuming it has to do with ActiveX
permissions on the Client. Any idea which ones?

| Hi Dustin,
To rule out installation issues have you tried launching BizDesk on the
local server box? If so does this work OK?
What OSes are you running for the Client and Server including Service Pack
levels
