Author Catalog manager does not connect/start anymore

Due to some problems (with search engines) we were forced to change the root
of our site. The intresting thing is; everything is working fien, the website
displays, Businessdesk works ok, but sadly the catalog manager keeps refusing
to connect. Reinstalling Catalog manager did not work, reinstalling FP1 did
not work, changing permissions did not work and editing various config files
didn't help either. Did someone stumble on this problem before?

The catalogmanager connects to the catalog system via the catalogwebservice
url. Has this changed?

Yes, we've changed all url's pointing to the old root and verified it a
couple of times when we noticed that Catalog manager refused to connect. As i
said everything is working fine (including business desk) except for the
Catalog Manager.

Can you try accessing the Catalogweb service from internet explorer.
http://localhost/catalogwebservice/...webservice.asmx or
http://<servername>/catalogwebservice/catalogwebservice.asmx

Also are there any errors in the event log?
