I am installing Commerce Server 2002 Standard Edition on MS WS2K3,
everythig from scratch, including the OS. I have the following
confusion:

1.Which installation Guide I have to follow. We have 'Installing
Commerce Server 2002', 'Commerce Server 2002 Starter Site Installation
Guide', and 'securing your site -> Deploying your site using windows
authentiaction' and ... in the help file, I've found they are very much
overlapped and sometimes conflicting. So, what are the correct steps to
follow the documentation?

2. After successfully unpacked the starter site, I am stopped at
'changing the Windows Server 2003 configuration setting'. In
IIS->Application Pools->DefaultAppPool->properties, after I changed the
Identity from IWAM_computername to computername\CSSvc(user created in
previous a step), I got 'Service Unavailable' in IE, at
C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\HTTPERR, I got '2005-08-05 20:23:28
198.96.36.129 1452 198.96.36.129 80 HTTP/1.1 GET
/CS2002StarterSiteBizdesk/bizdesk.asp 503 1 AppOffline DefaultAppPool',
none of the other sites which was working under localhost or 127.0.0.1
is working now. When I changed back to IWAM_machinename, I had exactly
the same error message.

3. I don't seem to have
'<drive> :\Inetpub\wwwroot\CatalogWebService\cata
logAuthorizationStore.xml',
if run asman.msc ->new Authorization Store, I got 'can't create a new
authorization store,the following problem occured, the request is not
supported', I just can't add a user to a role.

I repeated un/installation several times with no luck, It is really
frustrating, any advice is greatly appreciated.

1. Installing Commerce Server 2002 will help you install Commerce Server
Once you install commerce server, you should then unpup a site.
The follow the instructions in the security guide to secure your site
(mainly datatbases and users)
CS2002 also ships a starter site and the 'Commerce Server 2002 Starter Site
Installation guide' refers to installing and setting up this starter site

3. This feature is availiable only with the recently shipped CS2002 feature
pack and not just withCS2002.
In order to get this you need to unpup a site.
