Commerce 2002 install

| I performed installation of CS2002 on win2003. Yet I do not see the Profiles
Services under the Global Resources. How do I create that?
As of now I've installed the Developer's edition of CS2002. Do I use some
other version. Any help will be appreciated.
I'm in the process of migrating our current Site Server to CS2002 using the
migration tool.

| You must first unpackage a site to get the Profiles resource. At this time
we recommend you start with the StarterSite, but if you just want a
resource you can get that from the Csharp.pup file

| Thank you very much ..that helped.
I'm trying to migrate from SS3.0 to CS2002 using the migration tool. Does
that create a Profile database or does the tool connect to an existing
profiles store or database..which I should have created...if so how?. In the
migration tool what database name is it expecting on the step 2 Commerce
Server info.

| Hi Joy,
The Version you use is up to you.. If you just plan on 2 web servers on
the front end and no more then 2 processors each STD will probably work
fine for you, but if you think you will need to scale to more then 2
processors per machine or more then 2 servers then you will need ENT
edition. ENT also has some extra Datawarhouse functionality.
Ussually the Migration tools have something in it to point from the SS 3.0
Membership source to the CS2002 Profiles Destination. If you unpackaged
everything to the default areas you should see a table inside your site
name called Profiles.
Which Migration tool are you running and where did you end up downloading
it from?

I'm using the Migration tool that comes along with the CS2002 SDK. I plan to
use the Ent version in production.
Is there any sample code available that uses the migration tool/objects to
migrate the profiles. I was able to create a xml profiles for the migration.
It would be great if i can get some sample code which performs the migration.
Thanks.

| Hi Joy
Are you using the following tools to try to migrate?
Site Server migration toolkit:
http://bpiweb/sites/MarketingTeam/t...on/default.aspx
Migration PAG document:
http://bpiweb/sites/MarketingTeam/t.../Documentation/
SiteServerMigrationPAG.pdf
Scripts (there is one for users, and this is publicly accessible):
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...83-8856-497f608
b897e/SStoCS2002MigrationKit1c.exe
Could you send me the XML you are using to try to migrate

| Thanks for the links. I was able to do a couple of successful trial
migrations using the Migration tool and the help of MS premier support.
Thanks for all the help.
