Installation CS2002 on domain controller
|
|
|
| I have a problem with making a new test environment.
I installed Win 2003 server + SP1 and CS 2002 + SP3 and everything worked
OK. After promoting this server to domain controller, some windows services
stopped working. I also tried promoting the DC first and installing CS2002
second, but the result is the same.
Is it possible to have Windows 2003 server and Commerce server2002 on the
same server that is also a domain controller?
I tried to find an answer on the Internet, and found this link:
http://www.adminlife.com/247reference/msgs/2/11139.aspx where norm says: " I
have always installed everything on one machine (including the domain
controller)."
What exactly do I need to do, step by step, to make it work?

| Hi Dovla,
I would recommend promoting the server to a Domain Controller before
installing IIS and CS2002. There is some potential for configuration items
to become out-of-sync with the change from a local SAM to a directory
services store for user accounts.
Cheers,
Colin
