Problems with CS 2002 installation

| Hello all,
I have a curious problem in Commerce Server 2002 installation: when the
process reaches Services Accounts window, I am supposed to provide username,
password and domain for the account used for security and network access.
Now, no matter what account I specify (domain admin - member of local admins
group, local admin.....), I get an error message "The specified service
logon is invalid. Error code: Logon failure: the user has not been granted
the requested logon type at this computer."
As I said, it happens with every account and administrators are surely
granted the requested logon type.
What to do?
Thank you in advance,
Hrvoje Vrbanc

| Hi Hrvoje Vrbanc,
Have you tried logging in on that machine with any of the accounts ? If you
cannot login on the machine with those accounts even those with Domain Admin
permissions then I'd recommend you check with your domain admin if they've
put some security policy in place which prevent that.

| Hello!
Yes, I can log in as a local admin or as a domain admin without any
problems. Everything else works fine.

| In that case please make your Commerce Server Service account a part of the
Local Machine Administrators and try !

| Hello Hrvoje,
Can you give a bit more background on your configuration? How were the accounts
created? What rights does the identity that you using to install Commerce
Server have? Typically a newly created user account with no special group
membership is sufficient as the setup process will grant the necessary rights.
Cheers,
Colin

| Hello Colin!
Thanks for the answer.
The accounts are usual Active Directory domain accounts. The (to be)
Commerce Server machine is a member server in the domain. I can use (and
tried to) both domain and local Administrator accounts but to no avail.
So far I didn't find any account that would permit the installation (it's
obvious that something is wrong). It is possible for me to format the
machine so I'll do it and see the changes then.
regards,
Hrvoje
