Multiple Processing on the same order...CS 2002 & Verisign

We have been supporting Verisign processing for Credit Cards on my site for a
long time for products that did not require shipping until now...I used
Verisign PayFlow component in the checkout pipeline for processing...

Now we want to introduce new product lines from different vendors that are
shippable.

Is it possible to separate the order payment processing such that all
products that do not require shipping will be charged at the time of the
order and shippable products will make an authorization (and later delayed
capture) for the same credit card in the same order? If not any suggestions
on how to handle this particular scenario would be very helpful.
