Help needed- CS2k2, SQL2005 FP1 !!!
|

| Hi, I'm trying to get a mscs2002 FP1 site to run from our app server,
to another DB server with sql 2005 developer edition on.
I just cannot get it to work!!
If I unpack a site, all the DBs are created correctly, but when I try
and use the site I get all sorts of errors. Mainly connection ones.
This is the current one:
Invalid connection (Please check the connection string). Login failed
for user 'my_user'.[42000] Data provider could not be
initialized.[42000]
I've set all the connection strings to use sql authentication, and they
all check out ok, when 'testing' them.
I heard MSCS2002 should work ok with SQL2005...
Any ideas?

| Martin,
Although this configuration CAN work, it is unsupported by MS. Here's a link
to Ryan Donovan's (Program Director for Commerce Server) comments on the
topic of .NET 2.0, SQL 2005 and Commerce 2002
(http://blogs.msdn.com/rdonovan/arch.../07/526674.aspx). Sorry.

| Martin,
Any luck? I have a client who is adament about running MSCS2002 and SQL2005.
We used SQL2000 to install the site, developed against the SQL2000, and once
we moved the .bak's over from 2000 to 2005, we got the same error on the 1 of
the 7 or .dll set in the config file for user access/permissions problems.

| This configuration has not been tested and is not supported
You will be better off running on Sql 2000
