Windows 2003 - Commerce Server 2000 support?
|
|

| All,
We have a web site now on Windows 2000 and have Commerce Server 2000
installed. Now, the only pieces of Commerce Server 2000 installed on
our MS web servers are the runtime objects only. Our development staff
has informed me that they are using the "dictionary object" that comes
with the runtime objects of this installation.
Now, that being said we are in the process of moving to Windows 2003
Enterprise. Can we just install the runtime objects on our Windows
2003 Enterprise servers and continue on as we have on Windows 2000? Is
this configuration supported and will this have any issues?
Thank you very much in advance!

| Hi,
This has not been tested so there may be some unknown issues. This is also
not a supported environment.
Thanks,
Dan

| Thank you for your response sir and I have a follow up question if I
may.
"This is also not a suppoted environment"? Is that the scenario of
Commerce Server 2000 on Windows 2003 server? Does it have anything to
do with us installing only the runtime objects?
Thanks again!

| Hi,
The runtime objects for CS2K have not been tested on Windows 2003 nor are
they supported. In fact mainstream support has ended for CS2K.
Thanks,
Dan
