Problem with Install CS2007 Developer

| I am trying to do a fresh install of commerce server developer on an XP box.
It should just be a default installation however everytime I try it I get the
following error, which does not allow me to do anything with the server;
'The commerce server service connection point failed to install. Would you
like to continue?'
If i continue the xml web services are not created and I cannot configure
the server, rendering the whole excercise useless.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

| OK..
I found a post that says that that error doesnt matter and that it has to do
with AD. However when I go into the Configuration Wizard and i try to run
through the configuration. CS blows up right in my face during the
Configuring feature 'Administration Database' with an error report. The error
report contains a system.invalidcastexception.
Has anyone seen this? Is there a workaround? I am using the latest download
from Microsoft for CS2007 Developer. I need to get this up and running on a
workstation, and I cant wait the month until they patch this.
Thanks in advance

| Have you looked in the Configuration log for details about the error?
By default a log is created in your %temp% directory.
But you can also specify a custom log file on the command line.
Thanks,
madhur

| Thanks for the help...
I believe the problem was caused because I was trying to use SQL Server
Express as the datastore. When I switched to Enterprise I had no problem
installing.
